Miramar Police Respond to Armed Gunman Incident

On Friday, officers from the Miramar Police Department responded to reports of a gunman armed with a long rifle, prompting a search for a silver Dodge pickup truck. To manage the situation, police established roadblocks in the westbound lanes of Miramar Parkway, just west of the Florida Turnpike.

A temporary command post was set up at the intersection of Arcadia Drive and Miramar Parkway. According to police scanner transmissions—though not yet confirmed by official sources—officers referred to the suspect as an “active shooter” and requested additional backup.
